My Train of Thoughts

So, who am I kidding...

I'm retired...lots of time on my hands right? Plenty of time to write a blog weekly or monthly right? Well that didn't work out so well for me...because I have no free time!!! To make up for this inefficiency I've decided to post periodically a page called "My Train of Thoughts"---my "mini blog" as it were---a way to get my pesky thoughts, results, or ideas purged from my head! (Well, "buckle up buttercup" but don't hold your breath.)

The way in which someone (me) reaches a conclusion or  a line of reasoning. My brain keeps a rollin' all day long!!!

So, here is my definition of unorthodox writing: I don't have to the same-ole-boiler-plate writer. I may have too many words or too many characters...but welcome to my writing style and point of view...and you know what? Number 2 will be different too, and I hope you enjoy them both!

So...[as I hold my finger up] I'm not a hoarder, but I have all kinds of "stuff" at my house which allows me to say if someone needs something: "I have just the thing!"

A little update from a frazzled writer. I had a great summer and fall of events. Looking forward to the Redbud Fall Festival in Sheridan this Saturday, where my husband, Pablo will be showcasing his beautifully refurbished trunks. On another note, #2 is well over a third of the way through. It's taking a long time, but I'm happy with the results so far.

Oh, Oh. My self-imposed deadline is approaching fast, I'm not any where near where I want to be in the editing process. Panic or roll with it? Well, I'm not in the market for any more anxiety, especially of my own doing, so the answer is roll with it. Here's hoping it goes smooth. Fingers crossed a little divine intervention would go a long way!!!

   It's mid-June and HOT,

   which isn't saying a lot.

   I can't find any rhymes,

so I'll wait till next time.

 . . . . maybe tomorrow!!!

I wish I had a before picture, but I can show you the heartbreaking after pic . . . . The bare, unstable glass shelf before you is all that remains of my Southwestern pottery collection. Some pieces were over forty years old and had sentimental value.

An unfortunate, regrettable accident (no, not an earthquake) knocked all the pieces to the floor . . . there was one survivor. Mad. Sad. I mourned for a whole day, played pros and cons in my head, and reasoned with the insanity of grieving over inanimate objects. And what did I learn? It hurts, but there are far worse things in life. It’s up to you and you alone to know when it’s enough wallowing . . . so choose your closure and move on. Phew, feels good to get that out!

Sniff, Sniff.

Promoting and selling a book is the hardest thing I've ever done! Heck, when I was younger I couldn't even sell girl scout cookies...look at me now...necessity is the mother of invention...interpret as you will (LOL). Have I mentioned before I need an assistant?

Excuse the crudely drawn cartoon, but I think you get the point...me all the time...

I’ve set a deadline. It works by getting me into my library (den) to write. I fear it’s one of many deadlines, but the plan is to complete book #2,  Mrs. Gray’s Secret (hopefully no title changes), in six months.

I've decided I need an assistant! Someone to organize, answer phones, retrieve messages, set up events, etc....then I realized all I would do is micromanage them...yikes. Just saved me some money, but not time.
